Osun State Sports Council Redeploys Sports Secretaries in Drive to Strengthen Sports Administration and Development

In furtherance of the Osun State Government’s sports sector reform agenda under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the management of the Osun State Sports Council has announced the redeployment of sports secretaries across various sporting disciplines to enhance administrative efficiency, improve coordination and strengthen sports development in the state.
The redeployment was announced during a management meeting held early Monday morning at the Osogbo Township Stadium, Osogbo, and presided over by the General Manager of the Osun State Sports Council, Mr. Ademola Daini.
The meeting was attended by the Director of Organisation, Mrs. Ronke Ogunbanwo; the Director of Technical, Mrs. Adejoke Osho; the Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Jadesola Aregbesola; and sports organisers of the Council.
The exercise forms part of ongoing administrative efforts to align the Council’s operational structure with the state government’s sports development objectives, with emphasis on effective organisation, accountability, teamwork and the efficient management of sporting activities across the state.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Daini explained that the redeployment was necessary to improve service delivery and position the sports organisers’ department to meet the growing demands of sports administration.
He emphasised that sports secretaries, also known as sports organisers, play a critical role in the development of sports by coordinating activities between coaches, and other relevant stakeholders, while also serving as ambassadors of the state.
According to him, administrative redeployment is an established practice designed to promote flexibility, broaden experience and ensure that personnel contribute effectively to the overall objectives of the Council.
“Sports organisation requires flexibility and the willingness to take on new responsibilities. Sports secretaries and organisers are administrators, and their assignments are subject to periodic changes in the interest of effective administration and development.
“There is a lot of work ahead of us, and I urge everyone to remain committed, work closely with their respective directors and ensure proper coordination in every sporting activity. You must understand that you are representatives and ambassadors of Osun State wherever you operate,” Mr. Daini stated.
He wished the redeployed officers success in their new assignments and charged them to demonstrate professionalism, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility in the discharge of their duties.
Also speaking, the Director of Organisation, Mrs. Ronke Ogunbanwo, expressed appreciation to the General Manager for his contributions to sports development and formally announced the new portfolios of the sports secretaries.
