On-Air Backlash: Callers Grill Engr. Remi Omowaiye During Live Rave FM Programme

The latest edition of “ORÒ ÒṢÈLÚ,” the political affairs programme on Rave FM anchored by Mr. Joshua Adenipekun turned into an intense session of public accountability as callers repeatedly challenged former Osun State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Remi Omowaiye, over his comments and stewardship while serving in the immediate past APC administration.
From the commencement of the phone-in segment, callers took turns questioning Engr. Omowaiye on issues relating to governance, infrastructure, and the record of the administration under which he served.
Rather than focusing on a single issue, the callers raised several concerns, insisting that public office holders should be prepared to account for their time in government whenever the opportunity arises.
One of the issues raised was the procurement of a drone during his tenure as Commissioner. Callers sought an explanation regarding the purpose of the drone, how it was deployed, and its current status. However, the discussion quickly shifted to broader concerns about the overall performance of the previous administration.

Several callers accused Engr. Omowaiye of frequently making statements they considered misleading and challenged him to mention major developmental projects executed by the previous administration, particularly projects that directly benefited Ijeshaland.
They argued that, as an Ijesha son who served in a strategic position within the government, he should be able to point to visible achievements delivered during that period.
The callers also criticised what they described as his consistent attacks on the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke. They maintained that rather than focusing on criticisms of the present government, he should first address questions regarding the administration he served.
According to many of the callers, the Adeleke administration has, in their view, delivered more impactful projects and programmes within a shorter period than the APC administration achieved during its twelve years in office.

As the programme progressed, the tone of the discussion remained largely critical, with callers repeatedly demanding accountability and urging Engr. Omowaiye to respond directly to the issues raised.
The exchanges made the phone-in session one of the most engaging moments of the broadcast, as listeners openly expressed their opinions on governance, leadership and the direction of Osun State.
