2026 Campaigns: Governor Adeleke Unveils Rural Infrastructure Agenda

Governor Ademola Adeleke today unveiled a series of plans and programmes for the development of Osun rural areas under his number two five-point agenda, the consolidation of infrastructure expansion for collective prosperity.
The governor, who spoke at Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Governments while addressing traditional rulers at Ikire-Ile and Ile-Ogbo, said the reconstruction of major internal roads across the two local governments will continue.
“I assure you, our royal fathers, I will continue to upgrade your roads. I have started by flagging off the Telemu-Ilemowu-Ogbagba Road. All other internal roads are slated under our enlarged rural agenda.
“You have seen our work at Iwo and other areas. We will do more for our people once we are re-elected. We have a five-point agenda which will benefit all towns and villages in our dear state,” the governor assured the people of Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Governments.

At the campaign engagements, Governor Adeleke also received hundreds of defectors from the APC into the Accord, led by Hon. Dauda Lawal (Ọmọ Ẹkùn), former APC Vice Chairman in Olaoluwa Local Government, and Hon. Amos Akindiya, former Member of the Osun State House of Assembly.
The defectors said their decision was informed by Governor Adeleke’s visible infrastructure development across Osun, his people-oriented style of governance, and their conviction that his administration has delivered tangible dividends of democracy to both rural and urban communities.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Dauda Lawal said the governor’s commitment to fulfilling his promises and improving the welfare of the people made it impossible for them to remain in the APC.
He further noted that those owed half salaries during the previous APC administration are now being paid by the Adeleke administration, including the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, whom he said is also a beneficiary of the ongoing half salary payments.

The traditional rulers in both local governments appreciated the governor for his delivery so far and expatiated on the needs and aspirations of their people.
The Akire of Ikire-Ile, His Royal Majesty, Oba Alhaji Azeez Olatunbosun, who spoke on behalf of the Olaoluwa traditional rulers, and the Olu of Ile-Ogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje, who spoke for the Ayedire traditional rulers, commended the governor for serving the state well over the last four years, offered prayers for him, and pledged their support for his re-election.
Signed:
Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the State Governor.
