Hon Babatunde Bakare: A Humanitarian Voice Rooted in Service and Community Development.

Bakare’s life story is one of discipline, resilience, education, and service. Born on September 13, 1985, in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria, into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Fatai Bakare, he grew up in a modest but loving home where values such as hard work, humility, and compassion were deeply encouraged. His roots in Ile Agbopa, Ogunjobi Odeniran, Ede South Local Government, Osun State, remain a strong part of his identity and continue to shape his commitment to the progress of his people.

From his early years at St. Clare’s Catholic Nursery and Primary School, Isale Aro, Osogbo, to his secondary education at Our Lady and Saint Francis Catholic College and later Unity School, Ejigbo, Hon. Babatunde Bakare demonstrated seriousness and determination. His academic journey took him beyond Nigeria to the United Kingdom, where he completed his A-Levels at Havering College before studying Environmental Science at the University of Portsmouth, graduating with a Second-Class Upper Division in 2011.

His professional path reflects both knowledge and leadership. He began his career as a Chemistry teacher at Bennett Memorial School in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, where he contributed to youth development through education. Later, he moved into environmental engineering, working with reputable firms such as HBR Limited/CA Blackwell and Geotech Soil Stabilisation Limited, where he rose to the position of Project Manager and supervised important projects across several countries.

What makes Bakare stand out is not only his international exposure but his desire to bring value back home. Despite his experience abroad, he has maintained a strong connection with Osun State and especially his community in Ede. His investments in entrepreneurship, including businesses that support job creation and community impact, show that he understands leadership as a responsibility to empower others.

As a humanitarian, Mr. Bakare has continued to touch lives through donations of food and other valuables to his ward in Ede and to the Accord family in Osun. These acts of kindness are not mere public gestures; they reflect a consistent belief that society becomes better when those who are blessed extend support to the vulnerable, the elderly, and families in need.

His contribution to public enlightenment is also notable. Every Thursday, he sponsors a radio programme on Redio Gbajumo, anchored by Amb. Olaide Alafe, to promote awareness about the Imole administration and its developmental agenda. Through this platform, he supports civic education, public communication, and constructive discussion on governance and community progress.

In a society searching for leaders with empathy, exposure, competence, and genuine concern for the people, Mr. Bakare represents a promising example. His background in education, environmental development, entrepreneurship, family values, and humanitarian service presents him as a potential leader with the heart to serve and the capacity to inspire positive change.
