IJESA SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY: A CALL FOR UNITY, DISCIPLINE AND COLLECTIVE VICTORY ABOVE PERSONAL INTEREST

IJESA SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY: A CALL FOR UNITY, DISCIPLINE AND COLLECTIVE VICTORY ABOVE PERSONAL INTEREST

Politics, in its finest form, is not built on bitterness, conspiracy or selfish ambition, but on loyalty, discipline, consultation and collective responsibility. As stakeholders and progressive minds in the Ijesa South Federal Constituency politics, this is the moment for all lovers of peace, development and political progress to rise above sentiments and work for the greater interest of our people and our party.

First and foremost, I sincerely salute the courage, resilience and strategic leadership of our revered leaders across the four Local Governments that make up the constituency; Ilesa West, Ilesa East, Atakumosa West and Atakumosa East. Despite the temporary setbacks caused by the defection of some notable elected representativs, the leadership of the Accord political family in Ijesa South stood firm, rebuilt the structure and restored confidence among party faithfuls.

That uncommon political strength and coordination remain a masterclass in leadership and party management.
Without mincing words, politics operates through structure, hierarchy and collective decision-making. Every serious political movement all over the world survives on respect for leadership and adherence to internal mechanisms. The Electoral Act clearly empowers party leadership and the majority of members to determine who flies the party’s flag. Therefore, all aspirants and supporters must understand that no personal ambition should supersede the collective survival and victory of the party.

Today, Ijesa South is blessed with vibrant, competent and politically experienced individuals who have shown interest in representing the constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. Their contributions, loyalty and sacrifices to the growth of the party are highly commendable. However, the reality remains that only one candidate will eventually emerge to carry the banner of the party into the 2027 general election.

At this critical period, what is required from all stakeholders is maturity, political discipline and unwavering solidarity behind the decision of the party leadership and the system. The politics of hatred, blackmail, conspiracy and needless attacks against the leadership can only weaken our collective strength and create unnecessary division within our fold. Those sponsoring campaigns of bitterness against the structure and leadership must desist in the interest of peace and future political stability.

More importantly, this is not the time for internal war when the opposition APC in Osun State and particularly in Ijesa South Federal Constituency is already battling deep internal crises, disunity and leadership confusion. The imposition politics within their fold has created visible cracks among their members, and rather than distract ourselves with avoidable disagreements, we must capitalize on their weakness and continue building a stronger and more united political structure capable of delivering overwhelming victories in 2026 and 2027.

As loyal progressives, we must also understand the larger picture. The success and continuity of the administration of Gov Ademola Adeleke beyond 2026 remains a collective responsibility for all genuine stakeholders across Osun State. This can only be achieved through unity, strategic political alignment and total support for the decisions and direction of trusted leaders who have consistently demonstrated capacity, loyalty and commitment to the growth of the party.

In this regard, the role of the State leadership under the watch of Governor Ademola Adeleke and other respected leaders cannot be undermined. Leaders are entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the party’s future, balancing interests and ensuring that the best political decisions are made for the overall success of the party and the people.

It is therefore expected that every loyal party member and aspirant should align with the collective interest of the system once a decision is reached.

The journey ahead requires sacrifice, understanding and unity of purpose. No meaningful political victory can be achieved in an atmosphere of conspiracy, bitterness and disloyalty. Our strength lies in our unity, our discipline and our readiness to stand together irrespective of individual preferences.

As the 2026 and 2027 elections approach, let us close ranks, deepen our consultations, strengthen our grassroots mobilization and work tirelessly to ensure that APC does not secure victory in any of the four Local Governments within Ijesa South Federal Constituency.

History will always remember those who chose peace over conflict, unity over division and collective progress over personal ambition.

A brave people do not sit and watch their political kingdom collapse. We must stand together, protect our structure and march forward in unity toward victory.

Signed,

Comrade Felix Alalade
Ilesa West Local Government.
20th May, 2026.
