Davido Takes a Brief Hiatus: Joins Forces with Governor Adeleke for Re-election Campaign

Nigerian Afrobeats musician Davido has declared his intention to pause some of his music commitments for the next two months. This decision is to allow him to actively support the second-term election campaign of the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

The famous singer shared this plan on Tuesday in Ede town while setting up a youth campaign committee to back the governor.

Davido explained that his choice to focus on the political campaign stems from his strong support for the current government and his wish to play a vital part in the election process.

“I have put my musical career on hold for two months to come and work for my uncle, not only because he is my uncle but because I believe in what he is doing and the work ahead,” he stated.

Furthermore, the music star encouraged the members of the newly formed youth committee to start working hard at the community level all over the state. He advised them to carry the campaign message directly to the residents.

“Let’s do door-to-door mobilisation across all local governments, engaging with people in our communities,” he added.

This committee setup is part of the many ongoing political preparations happening in Osun State as the next election period draws closer.
