The Silence of Development: Why Osun East Must Break Free from “Cracked Legislative Watch”

The Silence of Development: Why Osun East Must Break Free from “Cracked Legislative Watch”

The political landscape of the Ife/Ijesha Senatorial District has become a study in missed opportunities. While other districts across the South West are witnessing a revolution in infrastructure, Osun East remains trapped in a cycle of “cracked legislative watch” under Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi with plenty of observation, but a painful absence of transformation-SO SAD!!!

When we compare our current reality under Sen. Fadahunsi to the Yayi Book of Delivery by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola in Ogun West, the deficit in Osun East becomes impossible to ignore. It is no longer a matter of party politics; it is a matter of survival, growth, and the right of our citizens to modern dividends of democracy.

The Great Deficit: Roads, Schools, and ICT
The template set by Senator Adeola in Ogun West Senatorial District features nothing less than 114 road projects, 32 Primary Health Centres, and 10 Ultramodern ICT Centres across his senatorial district.

In contrast, we the people of Osun East are left asking:
Where is our own scorecard???

  1. A District Left in the Dust (Roads)
While Ogun West can boast of over 100 asphalted township and rural roads—from the Afon Township Road to the industrial corridors of Ota in contrast the commuters and farmers of Osun East continue to battle dilapidated paths. Our rural communities in Atakumosa, Ilesa, Oriade,Obokun, and the Ife hinterlands are cut off from economic hubs. So unfortunate representation log.

The lack of senatorial intervention in road networking has stifled our local economy, leaving our farmers to watch their produce rot because there are little or no asphalted roads to transport them.

  1. The Decay of Learning Enviroment for pupils and students (Schools)
Education is the pride of the Ijesha and Ife people, yet our school infrastructure tells a story of neglect. Senator Adeola’s record shows the construction of 29 massive blocks of classrooms, fully equipped with staff rooms and libraries. Meanwhile, many of our children in Osun East still learn in environments that are a shadow of their former glory. We are devoid of the modern, 12-classroom structures that should be the standard for a district of our stature.
  2. The Digital Divide (ICT Centres)

In 2026, ICT is no longer a luxury; it is the currency of the global economy. The “Yayi template” delivered 10 Ultramodern ICT Centres to schools and communities.
Where are the hubs for the youth of Osun East?
By failing to prioritize ICT construction, our current representation has effectively disconnected our youths from the digital age, leaving them to compete with “analog” tools in a high-tech world.

The Need for New Energy and Integrity*
The stark contrast between the 114 roads in Ogun West and the silence in Osun East proves that development is not about a lack of resources but it is about a lack of grassroots viability and integrity.
Integrity means ensuring that constituency projects are not just “captured” in the budget but are visibly standing in our neighborhoods.

New Energy means having a representative who is restless until the markets in Ife and the town halls in Ijeshaland match the “Ultramodern” standard seen elsewhere.

Conclusion: Beyond the Status Quo

Can Senator Fadahunsi point to a legacy of construction that rivals the 230+ projects in the Yayi template? The answer is written on our potholed roads and our aging school walls.
Osun East can no longer afford to be a spectator in the game of development. We need a representative with the integrity to deliver and the grassroots connection to know exactly where the shoes pinch. We deserve a representative who doesn’t just “watch” the legislature but builds the district.

The era of cracked leadership is over. It is time for a new energy that builds, empowers, and delivers.
