Sheikh Gumi Responds To Those Praying He Be Kîlled By US Forces As Nigeria Enters Military Pact With US
Controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has responded to those who wish he is kîlled by the US military for his critical stance against the use of full military force on bandits operating in the northern Nigeria.
Hence, Sheikh through his Facebook page, questioned the belief of those praying that he die. According to him, those who wish him death are not in good standing in their religious belief and faith as they would not wish even their enemies death if they are genuine believers and worshipers of God.
“A good Samaritan will never wish death for anyone, even his enemies; unfortunately, what we have are heathens or pure pagans camouflaged in piety”, he wrote on his Facebook page
Sheikh Gumi’s response to his death wishers follows Nigeria’s recent military agreement with the US government in respect to routing insecurity in Nigeria.
On January 21st, the Nigeria’s National Security Advisor to president Tinubu, Nuhu Ribadu announced a military pact between Nigeria and US which entails US greater involvement in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity through intelligence and military support.
According to NSA Nuhu Ribadu, the military cooperation does not in any way threaten Nigeria’s sovereignty as it is within a framework that will guarantee the safety of civilians and protection of human rights.
