Re- Oluomo Alimi misinforming the public as alleged by Osun APC

baseless allegation with no iota of truth

My attention has been drawn to a press statement written by Osun APC in which the party shamelessly accused my person and personality of misIeading the members of the public today on a statewide radio program where the issues of
LG crisis in the state was the fulcrum of discussion.

In the first instance, it must be stated as a matter of fact that an invite was made to the Osun APC to send their legal practitioners to the programme for participation, (Rauf Goke Ogunsola Esq was contacted), which at first, he agreed to but in the early hours of yesterday, which is the day of the programme, he turned down the request for participation, which,.
again denoted their usual style and pranks on issues of public interest and concern.

Be that as it turned out to be, the programme which had two hours duration held and it provided an opportunity to state word for word the true situation of things about OSUN LG imbroglio

For the sake of clarity and setting the record straight, I, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the Osun state Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, wish to categorically state with all sense of responsibility that I stand by all that I have said and even quoted in the course of the programme because they are the true reflections and positions of things.

To this end, I am again quick to raise the following posers which I want the Osun APC to deny if they all turned out to be the contrasts of the LG matters at hand as discussed on the stateside radio programme today, Saturday, 07/02/2026

That,

You awarded your self a tenure. The NBA position has reviewed all the cases including that of Feb.10 and came with a conclusion that, the APC yes/no chairmen, have no tenure. And that was what I categorically stated during the programme. Is that misinformation?
You relied on the interpretation of the AGF Lateef Fagbemi that the 10th February, Court of Appeal judgment reinstated the Yes/No Chairmen back to the LGs and we told the people that Lateef Fagbemi who is an appontee of APC led FG and a former Counsel to Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola is an interested and a biased person whose advice can’t be compared in weight to that of the Nigerian Bar Association which is a neutral body. Is that not a fact?
You claimed that S. 138 of the Electoral Act is applicable to your case, and that it was Governor Adeleke that removed your Yes/No Chairmen, after the judgment of the Federal High Court nullified their election, as they were supposed to stay in office while pursuing their appeal. However, I informed the people that, S 138 Electoral Act is only applicable to cases which the time for determination of the appeal has been specified like Election petition matters which must be determined within 60 days and not this kind of cases that could be frustrated with adjournment.
Is that a misinformation and not correct position of the law?
You claimed before the Supreme Court that the Yes/No tenure would come to an end in October 25 as contained on page 17 of the Supreme Court judgement but later you are saying your tenure has just started on 10th February, 2025, and we read the page 17 of the Supreme Court judgement to the people to burst your lies. Is that a misinformation?
Your tenure determination/ elongation matter which you filed was abandoned by you deliberately by your refusal to attend the matter when it came up for hearing on 28th January, 2026. This is a statement of fact stated by Alimi in the course of today’s programme. In what way did this fact constitute a misinformation as alluded to in your press statement ? Or was any of your Counsel in court on 28th January?
Having filed a case, and you submitted yourself to the jurisdiction of the court, you are supposed to vacate the Council Secretariats and wait for the determination of the case which you didn’t. Instead you continue to carry out the usual brigandage in all Council Secretariats throughout the state . Is that a misinformation by Alimi ?
The Speaker said APC, Osun paid Mr Saka Layoonu( SAN) a humongous #13 billion as legal fees, in addition to the huge amount of money equally paid to your court sacked Chairmen /Councillors. Is this not a statement of fact which up till now, was never denied by either your political party (APC)or Mr Saka Layoonu many days after the revelation was made public ? Is #13 billion not a huge amount of money? Does this constitute a “misinformation” again by Alimi whom you are falsely accusing of misleading members of the public during today’s radio programme ?
You made your political party ( APC) signatory to public accounts instead of technocrats at the various Council Secretariats who are the only statutorily recognized officials to be the signatories to such public money. This was what I stated in the course of the programme today ? In what way did that constitute a misinformation fed to the discerning members of the public, who themselves are already in the know of the true position of things as being brazenly and unconstitutionally carried out by your party, APC in Osun state .
Your party is hiding under the pretext of of L.G autonomy ,which in other 35 states of the federation is yet to see the light of the day. In other words, L.G autonomy has not commenced in all states in Nigeria except Osun. Why is Osun an exception which again you did not deny ? Tell us where and how this has become a misinformation as contained in your press statement ?
Is it not a statement of fact that while your people are smiling to the bank, collecting public fund illegally, the Pensioners that have their entitlement in the fund are crying?
Is it not a statement of fact that your Governorship candidate Mr Munirudeen Oyebamiji emerged through manipulation of the process by disqualifying other aspirants but one using inappropriate filing of forms as an excuse?

In conclusion, it is high time Osun APC stopped whipping up unnecessary political mischiefs and sentiments in order to curry the favour and attention of the innocent members of the public who, are themselves, now more informed and knowledgeable about the true position of things against the pathological lies and gimmicks which are now the stock in trade of your party and its apologists.
