Osun People, Federal Agencies Validate Adeleke’s Exceptional Performance as a Governor – Adeleke Campaign Organisation

Our attention has been drawn to a misguided remark by Senator Ajibola Bashiru asserting that the Adeleke administration has failed to deliver in all sectors of the state’s economy including education among others.

We generally take the statement credited to the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be a joke especially as the video emanated from a failed reconciliation meeting over the imploding scenario within his party.

We however feel it is important to set the records straight to confirm what Osun people and several federal agencies have validated – that Governor Ademola Adeleke has performed creditably well in all sectors despite the attacks and the financial strangulation by the Osun APC.

Reports and data analysis from local and federal agencies affirmed that Senator Bashiru lied and we will quote such performance reports as follows:

As of 2022, Osun suffers an infrastructure deficit of almost 80 percent. Updated reports at the end of 2025 confirm reduction of Osun infrastructure deficit by over 40 percent including the construction of the road in front of the GRA house of Dr Bashiru.

Governor Adeleke has constructed over 350 kilometers of roads, three flyover bridges alongside several ongoing road dualisation at Ilesha, Ikirun, Ila, Iwo, Ile Ife among others.

In 2022, Osun was ranked number 33 in national secondary school examinations. By 2024 and 2025 under Governor Adeleke, Osun ranking according to NECO has improved to number seven. That is a huge successful leap by every available standard.

From audio University under the previous government, University of Ilesa has become a reality under Governor Adeleke with almost 100 accredited courses, take off grant and ongoing expansion and rehabilitation of her internal infrastructures.

The Adeleke’s administration has also completed several abandoned projects at the Osun state university and executed several new projects to sustain the accreditation of the university in several fields.

As of 2022, Osun was ranked in below 30 in the area of access to primary health care. For 2024 and 2025, Osun emerged the first in the South Western region in terms of primary health care access with a total million dollar prize.

From zero operating tractor in 2022, Osun today has 31 tractors servicing farmers across the state under subsidised system. Osun is pursuing the target of surpassing both Ondo and Cross River in cocoa output through her ongoing aggressive cocoa expansion initiative.

From zero action on digital economy and ICT in 2022, Osun is today ranked as one of the few states with a serious digital economy agenda alongside brand new state ICT policy, State Tech Innovation policy and domestication of Nigeria’s Start Up Act.

From a state without a single five star stadium in 2022, Osun is about to inaugurate her first five star stadium alongside new structures such as the Osun State Sport Development Commission and Osun Sport Trust Fund.

From a stagnated economic sector with multiple taxation, Osun has climbed on the national index of ease of doing business with harmonisation of tax administration, 45 days windows for Certificate of Occupancy and a revived Free Trade Zones with several investors already onboarded.

From high capital flight and neglect of local content, Osun has today deepened local and grassroots economy through direct patronage of local contractors, suppliers and workers alongside boosting of local finance through funding for cooperative societies.

Osun debt stock inherited from the APC government has been reduced by over 45 percent according to the federal debt management office (DMO) with the state consistently securing single digit ratings in budget transparency and audit accountability compared to the opaque regime operated under previous administration.

Recently, Osun was placed top five in terms of access to portable water among the 36 states of the Federation. This flows from Adeleke’s administration efforts through rehabilitation of water works and the sinking of 332 boreholes across the 332 wards in the state.

Again, we know Senator Bashiru is just mocking Bola Oyebamiji, reminding him of the extreme failure Osun state experienced between 2018 to 2022 when the APC candidate was the Commissioner for Finance. At Adeleke campaign organization, we are committed to issue based campaign with verifiable facts and incontrovertible evidence and we challenge the opposition APC to be so guided.

Signed:
Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation,
April 12th, 2026.
