Imole Agenda: A Governance Framework Rooted in Prudent Decision-Making, Says Hon. Adewale Samson Adedayo

The Imole Agenda represents a paradigm shift in Osun State, moving away from opaque or antiquated governance toward a model rooted in transparency, local empowerment, and the “unorthodox” principle of people-centered decision-making. By prioritizing fiscal discipline and cutting waste, the administration has transformed the state’s financial outlook, nearly doubling internally generated revenue while liquidating significant inherited debts. This prudent approach ensures that every naira is a seed sown into the long-term prosperity of the people rather than the pockets of a few.

This is evident as enumerated firstly in Infrastructure Revolution.
The infrastructure uplift under the Imole Agenda is defined by a strategic “localization” policy that mandates the use of local contractors, artisans, and materials to prevent capital flight. This systematic overhaul has reduced the state’s inherited 80% infrastructure deficit by half, marked by the completion of over 250 kilometers of internal roads and landmark projects like the Ilesa dualization, the Lagere flyover in Ile-Ife, and the Oke-Fia flyover in Osogbo. Beyond mere asphalt, this revolution includes the “Light Up Osun” initiative and the provision of 332 boreholes—one for every ward—ensuring that the physical foundations of the state support both urban commerce and rural survival.

Furthermore ,Healthcare Priority.
Healthcare has been elevated from a secondary service to a primary right, evidenced by Osun winning the 2025 Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge. The administration’s focus on “preventive health” has led to the comprehensive upgrade of over 200 Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs), equipping them with solar power, potable water, and essential medical supplies to bridge the rural-urban health gap by 40%. Furthermore, the Imole Surgical and Medical Outreaches have provided free life-saving surgeries to over 100,000 residents, while the historic enrollment of 29,000 pensioners into the state health insurance scheme ensures that the most vulnerable are never one illness away from financial ruin.

In addendum,Educational System Upsurge.
The upsurge in the educational sector is a testament to the belief that an educated populace is the ultimate safeguard against tyranny. Prudent decision-making led to the payment of long-neglected UBEC counterpart funds dating back to 2019, unlocking massive federal investment to construct or refurbish over 400 classrooms across 139 schools The successful accreditation and take-off of the University of Ilesa, combined with the restoration of student bursaries and the launch of the Model Smart School in Osogbo, signals a future where digital literacy and character development are integrated. This holistic reform ensures that Osun’s youth are not just graduates, but global citizens equipped with the technical and ethical tools to lead.
