Gunmen St0rm Kwara Farmland, ∆bduct Four Family Members In Broad Daylight

Ilorin, Kwara State– Terrorists suspected to be bandits have abducted four members of the same family in Babanla community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

We gathered athered that the attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday while the victims were working on their farmland on the outskirts of Babanla.

According to multiple sources in the community who spoke to Eyes, the armed men invaded the farmland without warning, firing sporadically into the air before rounding up members of the family.

A source familiar with the incident disclosed that the assailants initially seized five persons but later released an elderly man, while taking away four other members of the family to an unknown destination.

“It is true that they abducted four family members. They were kidnapped on their farmland this morning,” the source told thestandardnews

The source further explained that the victims had gone to the farm as part of their regular daily activities when the gunmen struck.

“They came suddenly and surrounded them. The elderly man was later freed, but four others were taken away by the bandits,” the source added.

The identities of the abducted victims had yet to be officially confirmed as of the time of filing this report.

Babanla and several other communities in Ifelodun Local Government Area have reportedly experienced sporadic security challenges in recent months, with residents lamenting l inadequate security presence in remote farming settlements.

Howevet, the state police command had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, residents are calling on the government and security agencies to intensify patrols and deploy more personnel to vulnerable rural communities to prevent further attacks and secure the release of the abducted victims.

As of press time, the whereabouts of the four family members remain unknown, and no contact had reportedly been established with the kidnappers.
