Governor Adeleke’s Vision Realized: IBK Celebrates Success in Teacher Recruitment

The Chairman of Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the incoming Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Hon. Fadipe Ibukun Ishola (IBK), has warmly congratulated the successful candidates in the first batch of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise into public primary and secondary schools across Osun State.
The Osun State Government on Thursday, 6th March 2026, officially released the first batch of 526 successful applicants as part of the larger 5,000 teachers recruitment programme approved by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke to strengthen the education sector across the state.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Fadipe Ibukun Ishola described the recruitment exercise as another bold step in the systematic rebuilding of Osun’s education sector, applauding Governor Ademola Adeleke for his unwavering commitment to repositioning the state’s educational system and restoring its lost glory.
IBK noted that within a relatively short period, the Adeleke-led administration has demonstrated a rare level of sincerity and dedication to education development through far-reaching reforms and strategic interventions. According to him, initiatives such as the distribution of instructional materials, improved teachers’ welfare, strengthening of school security architecture, and the ongoing construction and renovation of classrooms across the state are clear testimonies of a government that understands the critical role of education in societal progress.
He further emphasized that the current teachers’ recruitment process stands out as one of the most transparent, open, and merit-driven exercises in the history of Osun State, stressing that such fairness was largely absent during the years of the previous APC administration. According to him, despite prevailing financial challenges, Governor Adeleke has demonstrated that good governance is measured not by excuses but by sincerity of purpose and commitment to the people.
“The recruitment exercise clearly reflects the principles of fairness, merit, and integrity. For many years, the people of Osun yearned for a transparent system where opportunities are given based on competence and character. Today, Governor Ademola Adeleke has once again proven that governance can be people-focused, transparent, and credible,” IBK stated.
The SUBEB Chairman expressed confidence that the newly recruited teachers will significantly improve learning outcomes and enhance students’ performance in national examinations in the coming years, thereby strengthening the foundation of basic education across the state.
He therefore urged the successful applicants, who will soon be deployed to various schools after their documentation and orientation, to see their appointment as a sacred responsibility to serve humanity and build the future of the state.
“Teaching is not just a profession; it is a noble calling. As nation builders, you carry the responsibility of shaping the minds and character of the next generation. I urge you all to remain diligent, disciplined, transparent, and committed to excellence in the discharge of your duties. You have been selected based on merit, moral integrity, and proven capacity. Let these values reflect in your service to the children of Osun State,” he advised.
Hon. Fadipe Ibukun Ishola also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and disregard the misleading narratives being spread by opposition elements regarding the recruitment process. He reaffirmed that the selection procedure was credible, rigorous, and strictly guided by merit, competence, and character, noting that academic performance alone was not the only criterion considered, but also ethical standards, professional disposition, and clean track records.
He further assured that the recruitment exercise is still ongoing, adding that additional batches will be released in due course as the government continues the implementation of the full 5,000 teachers recruitment programme.
IBK concluded by reiterating that the Adeleke administration has continued to set a new standard of responsible and people-centered governance in Osun State, urging citizens to continue supporting the government’s developmental agenda for the overall progress of the state.
“Osun is rising again, and education remains the strongest pillar upon which the future of our state will stand.”
