Explain Your Role in the $20m Health Grant Scam, Accord Challenges Bola Oyebamiji

The Accord, the ruling party in Osun State, has challenged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, to explain his role in the mismanagement of the $20 million primary health care grant under former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
The party, in a statement reacting to the 23 reasons why the APC flagbearer is not fit for the governorship position, cited the candidate’s role as the Chairman of the State Procurement Board during the time the grant was mismanaged.
The party asked salient questions: What happened at the procurement board meeting which deliberated on how to disburse the fund and which he, Oyebamiji, chaired, and which had in attendance Mr Adeleke Banik, Remi Omowaiye, and two other board members?
What was the resolution of the meeting? Does that resolution conform to or violate the state procurement laws?
What was the content of the report submitted to the State Executive Council by the procurement board that led to the sharing of contracts on the health care grant without compliance with due process?
Why were due process and procurement regulations violated under Mr Oyebamiji’s watch as Procurement Board Chairman?
Why did Mr Oyebamiji, as Finance Commissioner, who also doubled as Procurement Board Chairman, watch and allow the illegal sharing of primary health care contracts in gross violation of the extant laws?
The party urged Mr Oyebamiji to note that full records of all that transpired were available in government records, urging the APC candidate to come clean as Osun people deserve to know the truth of how the $20 million World Bank grant was expended.
Signed:
Pastor Victor Babalola Akande,
Osun State Accord Chairman.
